Shell's Endless Crafts

Here are a few of Shell's new creations. After an afternoon playing at a friend's house and enjoying all of their dress up stuff, they REALLY wanted Batman masks. They look pretty good and the kids love them. The dress was also made by Shell. She's so creative!

My Classroom

I don't know if anyone cares or not, but here are a few photos from my classroom this year.

These are the 'motivational' type things that I have on my wall behind my door.



Here is my desk with my Michigan banner hanging in the background...a little taste of home. Below is also my "Shakespeare/Othello" wall. You can't see it well, but the long image on the bottom of the wall is a timeline of all of Sheshpeare's plays...it came as a gift to the department from the Globe Theatre in London.

Here are a few of the desks in my classroom and the back wall which contains my favorite banner in the whole world. I had to fold the bottom under since I didn't think that 'Budweiser' should be promoted inside a high school classroom. Go Tigers!

Bacarella Update

Talor and I started painting Maddy's dog house before summer break ended. He had a blast! We'll finish it eventually, but it was a good start.

A little while ago Layla got a girls day with Nana. They went to the mall and even had a coffee fluff drink as a treat. She felt so big and had a lot of fun! It was a special time for them both.

Here are a couple pictures of the things that the kids and I picked out of the garden this evening. There are beans, red tomatoes and purple tomatoes. Not a bad score!

Talor's Trip to Butterfly Creek Park

The other day Talor had a "special" day out with Nana. They went to a place called Butterfly Creek and were able to see a bunch of animals, ride on a train, and even pet a crocodile! They had a great time and Talor was exhausted when he got home!

General Update

Here are just a few photos from our garden recently. We also have a ton of tomatoes but they aren't ripe yet. I'll post more as they start to flourish!

Layla and I took a break from me "watching her jump" and instead read a book on the tramp.

Christmas Lights

Late one night, during the week leading up to Christmas, the kids got woken up and loaded into the car to go and look at the Christmas lights on Franklin Street. Now they don't even compare to the States but for Auckland they are some of the best...

Craft Update!

Well I thought I would add a quick update of some of the things which keep me busy when the kids are quiet (not that that happens very often LOL )

Ishobel Shawl I knitted for Mum for Christmas, colour is more true life in the close up photo

A couple of hats knitted for Jon and Dad, did one for Row too but need to get a photo of it yet

Knitted/Beaded necklace, I need to do one for me yet, I made one for both Mum and Amanda as part of their Christmas stocking

Layla summer PJ shorts, and added applique to a couple of Talor's old singlets to make a couple of matching sets

Layla's winter PJ's, she has 3 pairs of pants and 5 tops. The tops are all up-cycled from old merino tops of mine :)



And almost forgot... here is what I spent about 3 months knitting (it probably didn't quite take that long but close, I was even banned from bringing it back to crafty night with the girls as they were sick of seeing it) it was Amanda's Christmas Present and is a Felted Bag in the end... I still have to take photos of the finished bag but ended up about half the size and I think gorgeous!
I was so pleased with it :)
