Tee-Ball

Last month Talor wrapped up his first season of tee-ball. Although the team didn't win many games, they were one of the youngest teams in the league and improved a ton! We all enjoyed watching him play and are looking forward to next season when he and Layla will both be playing. Well done Talor!

This was the trophy that he received for playing in the league this season.

After the 2nd to last game, Talor earned the Player of the Day award. He had a consistent game at the plate and he also did well in the field. He was so happy to finally be able to hold up that trophy!

And we're back...

You have probably been wondering where we have been and why there weren't any blog updates for a while. Well it's official, I became lazy with the blog - sorry. However, I have been slapped back into shape and am now working on it again. Thanks for hanging with us.

Here is a little taster of things to come. As you can see, the kids are growing. Yes, Layla is still tiny, but she is also developing her "wild" side. She loves Grumpy's bike and takes every opportunity to sit on it.

If you check back soon you'll see even more updates...I promise!

Talor's 1st Day of School

And finally...this past Tuesday was the start of the 2012 school year. Talor started Year 2 and this was the first year that he was required to wear a uniform. Again, I know that I am biased, but he is one cute kid! FYI - the first few days have been GREAT!

Let's end it with this...we have some cute kids! Thank God they look like their mother!!

I promise I won't wait so long to post again. Happy New Year everyone!

Bush Walk in the Waitakere Ranges

One of the trips that we took over the summer was to the Waitakere Ranges - a local mountain range in West Auckland. We spent a bit of time in the visitor center and then went on a cool bush walk. It took around 45 minutes (round trip) and we all enjoyed ourselves. We even saw some cool things along the way. A week or so later Shell and the kids went back and walked it again...sorry, I don't have photos of that.

We even saw a waterfall (if you can call it that)!

I believe this was the wood pigeon that we saw.

We got a bit wet on our walk. It didn't slow us down...much.

This is a tui. It's a cool bird.

Something Different...

Okay, I know that I haven't updated on my garden this summer, but let's just say that it was good. We have enjoyed eating a few zucchini's, tomatoes, beans, pumpkin, and strawberries (I feel like I am missing something). Anyway, here is a picture of the initial harvest of tomatoes. They are so sweet and many don't contain a lot of pulp/seeds! YUM!!

Layla, Layla, Layla...

Hi everyone,

I know, I know, it's been a while since our last update. Sorry about that. Needless to say, we have been enjoying ourselves since Christmas Eve and have thoroughly enjoyed our summer break. Unfortunately, we are all back at school and work now so here are a few updates as to what we have been up to in the past month.

First, let's talk about Layla. I know that I'm partial, but I have to say she is one cute kid. Also, the talent that my wife has is AMAZING! Shell made most of Layla's outfits in these. Here are a few pictures of both Layla and also Shell's talents. In these pictures you'll see Layla out and about over summer - music in the parks, hanging out at home, playing at a playground and picking strawberries. Like I said before...we've been busy! Enjoy!

Merry Christmas!

Before heading to bed, the kids set out cookies and whiskey for Santa and milk and carrots for the reindeer. They were going to leave Santa some beer again, but I thought that he might enjoy some whiskey instead. I just had a gut feeling that the whiskey would sound better to Santa.

Big Red has come and gone! He thoroughly enjoyed the cookies and whiskey and the reindeer enjoyed the milk and carrots.

Merry Christmas everyone! We hope you have a safe and happy day.
