Random Trip Photos

On our last night in Michigan we took the kids to Chuck E Cheese for dinner (Talor saw a commercial on TV for it and thought it would be fun). They had a good time and it was actually kind of a nice way to end the trip for the kids. Still, thank God they don't have these in New Zealand!

One of the highlights of this trip for me was playing golf with Dan. Not only did I throttle him, but we also had our boys as caddy's. They did a great job and enjoyed driving the carts. It was very cool and I was pleased that Jacob kept Dan honest by pointing out all of the times he used his foot wedge and played lost balls. Good boy!

The kids had some BIG days while on the trip and slept very hard at times.

Layla was Grandma's helper quite a bit throughout the trip.

I swear Talor never took these goggles off for 3 1/2 weeks!

We took the kids to see Toy Story 3 - good movie!

Jacob beat Dan and I in basketball one hot and sticky day.

Layla got her first "real" haircut while in Michigan too - she was a bit freaked to start with but settled nicely and looked great!

This was a reward for a LOOOONG day of shopping (3 hours seemed like forever to me) at Rivertown Mall.

The kids got mail from Nana and Grumpy - the money went to good use!

Classic American food!

Holiday time!

So we are finally on our trip. It has been a long time coming but is here now :)

Kids ready to go at Auckland Airport

On our first flight.... kids using their new headphones from Aunty Amanda & Uncle Row...

...having fun with colouring from Nana & Grumpy...

... to this on our second to last flight, two tired kids by the end of our trip over.

Playing with Grandma

Jon and Todd went to a Jimmy Buffett Show and we babysat 'Jack the dog' as the kids called him.

I found a Dora swimsuit and grass skirt at a store in Rockford, Layla loves it!

The kids first time Bowling in their life.

Watching the ball....

Kids in action!

Swimming in Grandma's pool, Holden (cousin, almost 8) came over to stay the weekend and all the kids got along great.

Not much of a size difference - Talor 4.5 years, Holden almost 8

It wouldn't be a trip to Rockford without a meal or two in the Corner Bar. We had to search for a few minutes to find Jon's name on the wall - If you eat over 12 Hot Dogs (in a bun with chili on them) you can get your name put on the wall. Jon did it while still in High School.

Fun times together!

So that has been the first few days. I'll add some more photos towards the end of the week.
