And Now We Are Updated!

And now we are updated - we are currently half way through our break and have been enjoying our family time again. It's been so busy with the end of term deadlines and craziness that we have had long days and nights. However, we are catching up from those couple of weeks. We spent an afternoon bowling recently - the kids hadn't been bowling since going with Grandma during our Michigan trip. They loved it, of course and are looking forward to going back again. We hope to be able to do more fun things this weekend and next week before getting back into the rat race of school, work and kindy.

So once again, sorry for being so slack with the updates. I can't guarantee that it won't happen again, but I promise to try to do better. Keep hanging in there with us, and thanks for checking in on us.

The Easter Bunny and Easter Injuries

Over the Easter weekend we ate some chocolate, celebrated the holiday and did some work (cleaning out Nana and Grumpy's gutters) with Grumpy. Unfortunately, Grumpy and I both came out a bit worse for wear - Shell must be much more coordinated and careful - she had no injuries at all. I don't have a picture of Grumpy's poor thumb, but these pictures show my head injury (a big tree branch fell on it) and also my nurse making sure that I was okay.

As you can see here, the Easter Bunny also made an appearance at our house. The kids were very excited, but Talor was also afraid to wake up and use the toilet in fear of accidentally walking in and scaring the Easter Bunny. He even made us shut our door to the lounge to ensure this didn't happen. Luckily for everyone, the Easter Bunny went unseen once again this year!

Piha

At the end of March we took a family trip to Piha beach to celebrate a friend of Talor's birthday. We spent a windy day playing at the beach with all of the other kids and then made our way to the playground area at the campsite and had a big BBQ. It was a great day out, but unfortunately the very windy Scenic Drive didn't sit well with Talor on the drive home and we had to make a pit stop to clean up the car - you've got to love car sickness! Still, happy birthday Zachary.

Toddler Day Out

For years now, Trusts Stadium has held a Toddlers Day Out. At this event there are bouncy castles, rides, a petting zoo and a variety of other activities - the best part is that it is all free! The kids LOVE it and although there are some long lines, it is a VERY good event. This year was no exception. The kids are already looking forward to next year's event.

Kindy Field Trip - Butterfly Creek

I was lucky enough to attend a kindy field trip to Butterfly Creek. Layla and I had a great time and she loved petting the animals and seeing the butterflies landing on my head.

Toothless Talor

Talor has had his two front teeth wiggly for quite some time. One morning during breakfast, he told Shell that one seemed extra wiggly so Shell had a look. She barely got a grip on it when it fell right out. Funny enough, that night during dinner, we had a look at the other one. Shell grabbed hold of it and lightly pulled - out it came. Two in one day! Needless to say, the tooth fairy was very impressed and spoiled both Talor and Layla (for being a supportive sister) a lot.

It's been a little while since these came out, and just to update the story...the top tooth on the right (next to the ones that are already out) in due to come out within days. It is VERY loose!

Learning to Share

As you can see, Layla has also been doing quite well at kindy. She recently received an award for her good sharing. Although she isn't always consistent when it comes to sharing with Talor, she is constantly working on it and has been doing very well. We're very proud of you Layla!
