Kids' Fun Day

Today was a special day for us and the kids. I won a few tickets from the zoo to see 'African Cats,' so Talor and I had a 'boys' morning and went to see it. It was good, and Talor enjoyed eating most of the popcorn and drinking most of the Sprite.

While we did that, Shell and Layla met up with some of their friends and had a 'girls' morning. They went to a place called The Fairy House and had a fairy picnic sort of thing. Layla got to dress up in a fairy outfit of her choice, eat some snacks, play with bubbles, play games, get sparkly eyes, etc. She came home with a magical wand afterwards (thanks to mummy) and has been turning all of us into a variety of animals all afternoon.

General Update

Hi everyone,

This is just a general update on things way over here. Talor and I are on a two week break, so we have been hanging out and getting some chores done. One of the chores was running the still. It was a nice day spent outside, ending with BBQ burgers on the grill. Not a bad winters day. The still produced 2 liters of rum and 6 liters of scotch. Not too bad.

Unfortunately, the other big event over this break was one that we were unable to actively participate in. Jimmy Buffett played in Detroit on Thursday and we had some great friends there celebrating for us. We, of course, listened to the show on Radio Margaritaville and even talked with everyone via Skype, so it was ALMOST as if we were there. Regardless, it was a great show, and below are a few pictures of Gary, Michelle, and Jenny to prove it. Fins up!

Welcome to the Family William Kenneth!

On Sunday afternoon at 12:03, William Kenneth Olliver was born. He weighed in at 5 lbs 15 oz and was around 17 inches long. We are now a very proud aunt and uncle again. Mom, Dad and William are all doing well.

Layla was like a little mother holding William. She picked out one of her stuffed toys to share with him and spent quite a bit of time cuddling him. She was VERY proud of herself!

Very Happy Cousins!

Good Crop

The kids and I dug up the potatoes in the garden yesterday. Not bad!

Layla's Dance Concert

Here are a few pictures from this afternoon's concert (thanks Uncle Row).

Talor was a very proud big brother and was taking quite a few pictures of the performance. Although not many turned out, it was the thought that counted.

The star herself...

Layla was quite excited to get her flowers from Talor and I. Talor even chose the colors - pink and orange - they were very nice!

Great job Layla!!

Well, here it is. This afternoon Layla performed in her first ever dance concert. She was dressed like a ladybug and did a great job! They performed their dance twice, which was probably good since Layla forgot what she was supposed to do on the first attempt. She did great on the 2nd, which is below, so we hope you enjoy it (She is the one with pigtails - 2nd from the left to start with). Uncle Row will be sending over some pictures soon, so I will update those when I get them. Congratulations Layla Hope...we're all very proud of you!!

Today was quite exciting - Talor and I finally got to see Layla dance. She had a dress rehearsal as preparation for her actual dance concert next weekend, so Talor, Shell, Nana and I all went to watch. Layla was a star! She knew the routine well and did a great job! We were all very proud of her. I will try and take a video or two of the concert next weekend and post it for you all to have a look at. Until then, enjoy the few pictures from today's practice run.
