Shell's Knitting

So..... I've started knitting.... I know like I need another craft thing to do....
Anyway just like normal, I jump into the tricky stuff, no dishcloths or peggy squares for me!
First was a Headband (fancy one not just a strip, but I undid it to finish my gloves as I ran out of wool halfway through the second glove) then I knitted some fingerless gloves which I still need to sew up (and will post photos once done) and now for a third project......

A Kaia Babydoll Top/Dress
I had to learn how to knit on circulars and since Mum has never done that I couldn't run to her for help, but luckily I have talented friends who helped out, and I'm so impressed with it!!!!

Kids

Little Miss Layla definitaly has a big personality and will often play up to the camera, these are just some of the faces we get on a daily basis

Talor figured out how to make 'handprints' on the window one morning and though it was the best thing ever

Layla has finally started letting me put her hair into pigtails... here is the first attempt :)

And this is Talors favourite reading material...

School Holidays

With Jon being a teacher, we are lucky enough to get holidays every few months. I thought I would show you just some of what we got up to during this last break.

Zoo with friends....

Play in the park....

Feeding the eels (supposed to be ducks, but Talor had way more fun with the eels) and themselves bread....

So all in all it was a great couple of weeks!

A great day fishing!

Hi everyone,

Last week Wednesday I was lucky enough to be invited to go fishing in Tauranga. Although we weren't totally successful with regards to catching "keepers," we still had a blast! The pictures below show me at the helm of the boat as well as one of our two "keepers" caught by skipper Mike - a John Dorry fish that was very tasty. The bottom three are of me holding a Barracuda that I reeled in and eventually fed to an albatross.

Overall, it was a fantastic day out and a huge thank you goes out to Skipper Mike and his daughter Sarah. They were amazing hosts and A LOT of fun to hang out with for the day. I am sure that the next time we go out we'll have even better luck.

Happy 4th of July!

Good morning everyone,

Last night we had Shell's family over to celebrate the 4th of July. We had a BBQ (in the rain a little), potato salad, and apple pie. It was very good! After dinner, and before the kids went to bed, the weather settled and we were able to light some sparklers. The kids loved it!
